We are currently looking for a new colleague to join our busy Veterinary team, based at premises on Nutwell Estate, near Exmouth.
As part of this role, you will provide administrative activities that facilitates the smooth running of the St David’s Poultry Team Laboratory.
The ideal candidate must have a positive approach with excellent administration and organisational skills. You must have the ability to work alone and under pressure, and be able to use your own initiative. Some laboratory or veterinary knowledge is preferred but not essential.
The main responsibilities and objectives of the Laboratory Administrator are:
Delegation and management of all laboratory reports; both internal and external.
Inputting of customer reports from external laboratories and internal offices on to the necessary databases.
Managing the client database on the bespoke laboratory system.
Answering the telephone and liaising with customers, veterinary surgeons and laboratories in a polite and professional manner, and dealing with all enquiries as required.
Managing stock levels of sampling equipment across all offices.
Preparing and sending of all client kits as required.
Ensuring that the laboratory areas are kept to a professionally clean and tidy standard at all times.
Packaging and posting of all laboratory samples to external labs.
Ensuring quality controls are met at all times, keeping necessary records of hazardous waste and testing records.
Assisting the development of implementation of any new administrative systems in the office.
