Through collaboration with international partners we have developed IoT sensors which integrate with a custom-built software platform, specifically designed for the farming industry. We conduct tailored analysis projects, bringing together vets and data analysts to explore how data can be used to provide insights on farm performance and animal health.


About the Role

We are seeking a data analyst to join our team based in Lympstone, Exeter. You will play a critical role in the business, developing and working on innovative data projects using a variety of methods and techniques. Collaborating with vets, you will explore how data can be used to generate useful and meaningful insights to the farming and veterinary industries. You will develop reports and visualisations to make the results accessible and engaging to non-technical audiences.


Key Responsibilities

Access sensor data using internal and third-party APIs and process data for analysis

Develop and conduct data analysis projects with a focus on generating practical and meaningful results

Collaborate with vets to interpret data analysis results and insights, and develop future projects

Present results and develop visualisations to be accessible and engaging to non-technical audiences (including clients and funding bodies)

Develop systems for auto-generating reports to present data analysis results

Collaborate with software developers to implement analysis workflows on the software platform and advise on data presentation


Desired Technical Skills/ Requirements

Degree, MSc or PhD in mathematics, statistics, computer science or other quantitative field

Experience in analysing large datasets using Python and associated data analysis packages (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Scikit Learn, etc.)

Experience using both statistical and machine learning techniques

Experience using Latex for report generation

Strong data visualisation skills and ability to communicate results to non-technical audiences

Programming skills in Object Oriented Python Development

Strong data visualisation skills and ability to communicate results to non-technical audiences

Experience with Business intelligence technologies such as Tableau or Microsoft PowerBI

Interest/ knowledge of agriculture beneficial but not required


What We Offer

 The role is full time 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday, however there may be a need for flexible working hours as required. In exchange we offer a competitive salary dependent on qualifications and experience, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and a company group pension scheme.
